Inside Our Player Recruitment Process part 1/2

Due to the numerous inquiries we’ve received regarding our player recruitment process, we’ve decided to offer some insight. Our recruitment strategy unfolds in two main phases: firstly, a focus on Manila, detailed below, followed by the scouting of talented players from the provinces.

Initial Tryouts in Manila (December of last year):
During this phase, we received nearly 2000 applications. From these, we meticulously selected approximately 150 players to attend the tryouts. Despite our limited visibility as a brand new club at the time, and a few players withdrawing, approximately 10-15 individuals showcased exceptional talent and determination, earning their spot among the best from the initial pool. This was a remarkable achievement they can take pride in for the rest of their lives.

Additional Training and Recruitment (Still in Manila):
Following the initial tryouts, selected players underwent further training sessions. Occasionally, players with exceptional credentials were added to enhance the squad’s quality. This phase aimed to refine the team’s skills and tactics while also scouting for additional talent. The selection process included skill assessments, scrimmages, and interviews. Coaches and evaluators observed players’ performance, focusing on qualities such as technique, speed, agility, teamwork, and attitude. Selections were based on a combination of objective measurements and subjective evaluations by the coaching staff. Ultimately, the most promising players were chosen to join the team based on their performance during the tryouts.

In the next post, we will delve into the second phase of our recruitment process involving players from the provinces.
