Club Owner

Thomas Vivian Montet has invested over ₱15 million into Manila Montet, notably in marketing and charity—driven by a vision beyond money.

Thomas Vivian Montet is the founder and owner of Manila Montet SC, a sports club built on resilience, community spirit, and belief in Filipino talent. Originally from the south of France, Thomas grew up in Montpellier with family roots in the rural regions of the Cévennes and Lozère. Coming from a modest background, he was raised with strong values of discipline, education, and perseverance. Today, Manila Montet SC includes not only football but also volleyball, reflecting the club’s commitment to developing Filipino athletes across multiple sports.

Education and Career

Thomas pursued studies in economics and finance at several international institutions. His academic journey includes degrees from the University of Bordeaux and Montpellier 1 University, an MBA in Finance from Pace University in New York, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Strategy from the University of Oxford. He is also a member of Beta Gamma Sigma, an international honor society recognizing academic excellence.

Before becoming a full-time investor and entrepreneur, Thomas built his career in global finance. He held positions at institutions such as Commerzbank, PricewaterhouseCoopers, and BNP Paribas, gaining experience in financial markets and credit risk management while working in major financial centers including New York and London.

Investment Success and the Montet Group

After achieving significant success through his investments, Thomas chose to focus entirely on managing his own capital and building his own group of companies. This eventually led to the creation of the Montet Group, which includes activities in finance, sports, and philanthropy.

Through these ventures, he has remained focused on long-term value creation and responsible investment, while supporting initiatives that aim to generate positive impact in communities.

A Commitment to the Philippines

After traveling extensively, Thomas and his family ultimately chose to make the Philippines their home.

They believe the country is one of the most underrated places in the world, rich in talent, passion, and opportunity. This belief is one of the reasons behind the creation of Manila Montet.

Through the club and other initiatives, Thomas aims to help develop opportunities for Filipino athletes while contributing to the growth of sports and community engagement in the country.

Fully Committed

Thomas has personally already invested more than $200,000 of his own resources into Manila Montet. But for him, it’s not just about money — it’s about building a club, nurturing talent, and creating opportunities for the Filipino people. This is a long-term passion project, where every decision reflects his dedication to the team, the fans, and the community.

The Montet Family

Family plays a central role in Thomas’s life and in the vision behind the club.

The Montet family reflects an international story: a European founder, a strong and compassionate Vietnamese wife, and two children born in England. Despite their different origins, they chose to build their life in the Philippines, a country they deeply admire and proudly call home.

Wherever they go in the world, the family carries a deep respect for the Filipino people and their culture. Their commitment is not only professional but also personal.

A Simple Mission

At Manila Montet, the mission remains simple:

To inspire.
To give back.
And to build something meaningful with and for the Filipino people.
