- Manila Montet SC is often recognized as one of the few financially stable football clubs in the Philippines. How is that possible?
It’s simple. We don’t rely on government support. Manila Montet SC is privately funded by the Montet Group, backed by a successful European businessman who now calls the Philippines home. Out of gratitude for the warm welcome he received, he’s chosen to give back — through both charity and sport.
- Are you here to stay?
Absolutely — 100%. We’re not putting in this much energy, time, and resources just to walk away.
Manila Montet isn’t just a football club — it’s a long-term project driven by passion, ambition, and purpose. Every year, we grow stronger. And honestly, we’re only getting started.
- Why is Manila Montet so popular?
Because we do things differently — and people feel it.
From our strong presence on social media to our grassroots programs and community work, our club stands for something more. We speak with our hearts, we fight with resilience, and we believe in the Filipino people. That’s what makes us connect.
- Why are you helping poor communities?
Because football is just the beginning.
Through the Montet Philanthropic Society and other initiatives, we invest in education, sports development, and direct aid. Giving back is not a marketing move — it’s who we are. Helping others is part of our DNA.
- The Manila Montet Challenge Series has been a surprise hit. What’s behind its success?
We were also surprised by how fast it took off!
Launching a brand-new competition format is always risky, but we already had a strong fanbase and powerful social media reach — which helped massively. We also invest more in marketing than all other clubs in the country combined, and it pays off. The Challenge Series is fast, dynamic, inclusive — and it’s just the beginning.
- With such popularity, why are you no longer in the PFL?
We experienced the Philippines Football League from the inside.
After that experience, we made a clear decision: the PFL, in its current state, is not the right fit for Manila Montet.
Our vision has always been to play in front of people, build a passionate fanbase, create exciting matchdays, and help make football a sport that Filipinos follow and celebrate.
At the moment, we don’t believe that vision can be fully achieved there.
That’s why we’ve chosen a different path.
Instead of focusing on league football, we’re investing our time into:
✔️ Building one of the country’s largest football communities
✔️ Visiting schools
✔️ Supporting charities
✔️ Growing the Manila Montet Challenge Series, where football is played in front of real fans with real atmosphere.
We respect everyone working to grow football in the Philippines, and we sincerely hope the league continues to develop.
If one day Philippine football reaches the level of popularity and fan engagement we all dream of, we’ll be ready to return.
Until then, we’ll keep doing what we’ve always believed in: bringing football closer to the Filipino people.
- How can I support or join the movement?
It’s easy — and meaningful.
✅ Follow us on social media
✅ Register as a fan (get involved in polls and decisions)
✅ Wear the jersey with pride
✅ Spread the word to others
✅ Join our activities and outreach events
Whether you love football, believe in community work, or just want to be part of something special — there’s a place for you at Manila Montet SC. 💙
- How do you fund your activities — and where does the money go?
We believe in transparency — and here’s the reality:
Almost all of our funding comes from one source: our owner.
It’s a personal initiative — not an investment. Through the Montet Group, he decided to give back to the Philippines out of gratitude, by supporting sport and communities.
Aside from that:
- We sell merchandise, especially jerseys. It helps — but it’s still modest compared to our overall costs.
We generate small revenues from social media, which are growing steadily, but remain very limited for now. - We also have one important Vietnamese sponsor Wika.
👉 To be clear: we spend far more than we make, and that is fine to us.
Our club runs at a controlled deficit — carefully managed, responsibly spent.
We invest in:
- Our players and staff (transport, gear, small allowances)
- School visits, social programs, and charitable actions
- Media, communication, and events for our fans
- The Montet Challenge Series
- Do you have sponsors — and how can I become one?
Yes but we are picky.
We’re careful about who we work with.
We only accept sponsorships from people or companies that share our values: integrity, community, and a genuine love for football.
