Manila Montet SC is an active sports club based in Metro Manila, Philippines.
Founded in December 2023, the club organizes football and volleyball competitions, community programmes, youth development activities, and charitable initiatives throughout the year.
Manila Montet operates independently and organizes the Montet Challenge Series and the Montet Volleyball Championship.
The club’s founder, Thomas Vivian Montet, was born and raised in Montpellier, France. His family comes from the farming communities of the Cévennes and Lozère — humble beginnings that instilled values of resilience, hard work, and perseverance. With these foundations, Thomas built his own success in international finance and investments.
Now living in the Philippines, Thomas has chosen to give back to the country that welcomed him. Through the Montet Group, he supports football and community projects that put people first. Manila Montet stands for a game that is inclusive, accessible, and for everyone — never just for the elite.
While Manila Montet initially explored joining the traditional league system, we—alongside several other ambitious Filipino clubs—ultimately chose a different path. We believe the current football landscape in the Philippines limits the growth potential of ambitious clubs, with modest attendances, limited media exposure, and relatively low fan engagement.
Operating independently has allowed Manila Montet to grow faster, reach a wider audience, and build a stronger connection with supporters than would have been possible within the traditional league structure. Today, Manila Montet is one of the most followed football clubs in the Philippines. Despite competing outside the professional league system, our digital audience is several times larger than that of almost every Philippine Football League club.
This makes Manila Montet a truly unique phenomenon in world football. In almost every footballing nation, clubs outside the professional pyramid struggle for visibility while top-division clubs dominate the conversation. In the Philippines, the opposite has happened. An independent club has become one of the country’s most recognized football brands, proving that innovation, community engagement, and a supporter-first approach can outperform traditional league participation.
Rather than waiting for the football ecosystem to evolve, Manila Montet has chosen to build its own. Through independent competitions such as the Montet Challenge Series, elite player recruitment, compelling digital content, and a relentless focus on supporters, we are creating a new model for club football in the Philippines—one driven by fans, not by league status.
