Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

  1. Manila Montet FC is often recognized as one of the few financially stable football clubs in the Philippines. How is that possible?

It’s simple. We don’t rely on government support. Manila Montet FC is privately funded by the Montet Group, backed by a successful European businessman who now calls the Philippines home. Out of gratitude for the warm welcome he received, he’s chosen to give back — through both charity and sport.

  1. Are you here to stay?

Absolutely — 100%. We’re not putting in this much energy, time, and resources just to walk away.

Manila Montet isn’t just a football club — it’s a long-term project driven by passion, ambition, and purpose. Every year, we grow stronger. And honestly, we’re only getting started.

  1. Why is Manila Montet so popular?

Because we do things differently — and people feel it.
From our strong presence on social media to our grassroots programs and community work, our club stands for something more. We speak with our hearts, we fight with resilience, and we believe in the Filipino people. That’s what makes us connect.

  1. Why are you helping poor communities?

Because football is just the beginning.
Through the Montet Philanthropic Society and other initiatives, we invest in education, sports development, and direct aid. Giving back is not a marketing move — it’s who we are. Helping others is part of our DNA.

  1. The Manila Montet Challenge Series has been a surprise hit. What’s behind its success?

We were also surprised by how fast it took off!
Launching a brand-new competition format is always risky, but we already had a strong fanbase and powerful social media reach — which helped massively. We also invest more in marketing than all other clubs in the country combined, and it pays off. The Challenge Series is fast, dynamic, inclusive — and it’s just the beginning.

  1. With such popularity, why are you no longer in the PFL?

We played one season in the PFL, finished last, and—like four other clubs—were relegated due to poor on-field performance. After that, we made a deliberate choice not to return.

Why? Because we’ve seen how the current PFL model works — and it simply doesn’t align with our vision of football. We’re not a club that depends on public subsidies or favors, and we don’t believe football should be played in front of empty stands just to tick a box.

We loved the experience and have nothing but respect for those involved — but for us, football is about people. It’s about community, passion, and building something real. That’s why we’ve focused our spending on:
✔️ Supporting charities
✔️ Visiting schools
✔️ Growing a real fanbase
✔️ Developing the Manila Montet Challenge Series

We know many people — including stakeholders around the league — would love to see us back in the PFL, because we bring strong public support. But that’s not our priority right now.

We’re focused on building something meaningful, with people at the heart of it. When the league model improves and makes sense for clubs like ours, we’ll be ready to consider a return.

  1. How can I support or join the movement?

It’s easy — and meaningful.
✅ Follow us on social media
✅ Register as a fan (get involved in polls and decisions)
✅ Wear the jersey with pride
✅ Spread the word to others
✅ Join our activities and outreach events

Whether you love football, believe in community work, or just want to be part of something special — there’s a place for you at Manila Montet FC. 💙

  1. How do you fund your activities — and where does the money go?

We believe in transparency — and here’s the reality:

Almost all of our funding comes from one source: our owner.
It’s a personal initiative — not an investment. Through the Montet Group, he decided to give back to the Philippines out of gratitude, by supporting sport and communities.

Aside from that:

  • We sell merchandise, especially jerseys. It helps — but it’s still modest compared to our overall costs.
We generate small revenues from social media, which are growing steadily, but remain very limited for now.
  • We also have one important Vietnamese sponsor Wika.

👉 To be clear: we spend far more than we make, and that is fine to us.
Our club runs at a controlled deficit — carefully managed, responsibly spent.

We invest in:

  • Our players and staff (transport, gear, small allowances)
  • School visits, social programs, and charitable actions
  • Media, communication, and events for our fans
  • The Manila Montet Challenge Series
  1. Do you have sponsors — and how can I become one?

Yes but we are picky.

We’re careful about who we work with.
We only accept sponsorships from people or companies that share our values: integrity, community, and a genuine love for football.
